Pollen Mobile is excited to welcome community members to contribute to its work in building the next-generation mobile network. To do this, we’re providing funding, support, and other resources to those working on projects that provide immediate and strategic value to the growth of the network and the health of the Pollen Mobile ecosystem.

Everyone in the community can submit a proposal for a grant. The Pollen Mobile Grants Committee will review proposals.

Interest Areas

Pollen Mobile was launched in February 2022. Since then, we’ve seen an outpouring of support for our work. Our mission is to become the best mobile hybrid network operator (MHNO) with dense coverage in locations that major carriers cannot access. For our first grant disbursement cycle, we’re open to any and all ideas put forward by the community, but we’re specifically excited about the following categories.

💻 Smart Contract Development

Develop the smart contract to convert daily fiat spending into $PCN for Data Credit conversion.

❤️ Community Tools and Applications

Tools and applications to help Bumblebees, Honeybees, and Flowers navigate their usage of the Pollen Mobile network.

📈 Deployments and New Use-Cases

Programs to bring Pollen Mobile to areas that are otherwise without reliable coverage and that offer a significant public benefit to the community (e.g., low-income, rural, K-12 schools, local libraries, etc.)

📚 Education and Awareness

Educational resources for teaching people about Pollen Mobile and how to get involved, including videos, starter kits, conferences/events, etc.

Application Evaluation Criteria

When evaluating an application, the Grants Committee will evaluate applications based on whether they have a viable path to achieve the following successfully:

• Improves the experience of using Pollen Mobile
• Increases the adoption and growth of Pollen Mobile
• The timeline for completing the scope of work falls within a 6 month period
• The proposal clearly outlines how the funds will be allocated
• The proposal team has relevant experience and know-how to achieve the proposed outcome
